AWR2944: 2944 calibration

Part Number: AWR2944

Tool/software:

How to perform amplitude and phase calibration for 2944 different rx channels?

1.Are there any recommended calibration methods?

2.How to apply the calibrated amplitude and phase coefficients to 2944?

3.What is the difference between the ‘calibData’ command and the ‘compRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase' command in CLI commands?

  • Hello,

'calibData' configurations are related calibrating components inside the device and uses mechanisms internal to the device for compensation.

Additional amplitude and phase calibration are required to correct for imbalances arising from antenna and board level mismatches. That is being referred to in your question 2 and so the information for the same needs to be provided in 'compRangeBiasAndRxChanPhase' command. Also read from the SDK section 6.3. Range Bias (TDM Demo) and Rx Channel Gain/Offset Measurement and Compensation for more details.

You should also read https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/spracf4 for recommended calibration strategy.
