AWR1843BOOST: Freezing when larger objects pass (busses and trucks)

Tool/software:

I am currently using the AWR1843BOOST in a traffic monitoring scenario. I have picked up that the radar freezes and needs a reset when large objects like trucks or busses pass the radar.

Is there an explanation for this and also a possible workaround?

    Hi,

    Unfortunately the team that developed this demo is no longer available for support.

    However we have seen similar behavior with other Matlab GUIs. This is caused by the processing of the GUI on the PC.

    We have worked around this issue by reducing the number of displayed detected points. Other than that one would need to develop another GUI in python or QT

    Hi thanks for the answer. I am using my own python code to read the point cloud tlv and i am experiencing that the radar is actually freezing and needs a complete reset to start reporting frames again. Has there been any other cases reported like this that are similar? We have experienced it with at least 4 different AWR1843BOOST radars.

    Unfortunately that demo was developed a long time ago and the team is no longer available for support. 

    I have searched the forum using google site search as follows

    site e2e.ti.com 1843 traffic monitoring 

    I don't see similar issues.
