DRV401-Q1: Question about magnetic current sensing

Dear TI experts,

My customer checks the specification of magnetic current sensing solution like DRV401, DRV411.

They already have a product which is used open-loop magnetic current sensing IC of other manufacturer, but they want to make new one with closed-loop magnetic current sensing IC because of better accuracy.

They found DRV401 and DRV411 on TI.com but it was released about 10 years ago.

1. Do you have any roadmap or recently released (will be released) parts?

2. Do closed-loop magnetic sensors need calibration tool for correcting error rate? Cause open-loop sensors need calibration in production stage.

3. Do you have any reference in world-wide customers who make current sensor using closed-loop magnetic sensors?

The customer's application is current sensor for electric car charging system.

I think that our systems team would be better equipped to handle questions 1 and 3.

Calibration over temperature is sometimes required depending on the application requirements for error.

The closed loop systems are intended to help reduce error with constant feedback.

Dear Joe,

Here is one more request from my customer.

Do you have any technical document about close-loop sensing algorithm?

Because they already uses open-loop current sensors, just compare the mechanism and verify that it is really helpful for better sensing accuracy.

And one more question.

I saw TIPD184 reference design in the link below ;

In that schematic I can see 100A Passive current sensor, TQPL50A(Topstek). But I cannot find this component on google.

Instead I found TQL50A on Topstek website.

Is TQL50A right part for TIPD184 reference? Or did you use TQPL50A which is customized for special purpose?

(It is okay to suggest other current sensor instead of TQ(P)L50A.)

For your question regarding the TQPL50A, we recommended using it for the DRV411 in this application note: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidu674/tidu674.pdf

So this can be recommended instead.
