Hi,

I have a setup where I have connected IWR6843AOPEVM to MMWAVEICBOOST carrier board and trying to debug the code "radar_toolbox_3_10_00_05\source\ti\examples\Industrial_and_Personal_Electronics\People_Tracking\3D_People_Tracking". Pleas find the setup image below,

Using the IWR6843AOPEVM with the MMWAVEICBOOST carrier board, I am able to successfully run the code through CCS. However, I am facing the following issues while debugging:

Unable to place breakpoints in the code.
Unable to perform step-by-step debugging.

Please find the reference images attached below.

1. When we clicked on the suspend icon while code was running through CCS,

2. When we tried to put a breakpoint, it showed us a message "S/W BP - disabled".

Please suggest any settings in CCS that need to be done.

Hi Manoj,

Breakpoints can only be placed while execution is paused. Please try placing the breakpoint after you have loaded the code to the relevant cores but before resuming execution.

Hi Josh,

We also tried placing the breakpoint before resuming execution, but the same warning message still appears.
Additionally, when we pause the execution, it directly navigates to the disassembly window.
Please refer to the screenshot shared earlier for reference.

Hi Manoj,

Thank you. Also just to confirm, please make sure you are following each of the steps on this page. Can you also open the breakpoints window in CCS and try enabling them from there? You can go to View->Breakpoints then in the window you should see the breakpoints you placed. You can right-click and select 'Enable'.

Hi Josh,

Yes, I have followed each of the steps there on page.

I tried enabling breakpoints through breakpoints window in CCS, it is showing me below message,

Hi Manoj,

That error indicates that the code is not loaded when you are trying to enable to breakpoint. You must have execution paused after the program is loaded.

Hi Josh,

After loading code CCS enables play(run) and stop icon. It means the code is loaded successfully I believe. After that I click on play(run) icon and then pause the code to enable the breakpoint. But unable to place the breakpoints.

Can you confirm you are following the steps from this guide? http://dev.ti.com/tirex/local?id=Debugging_with_older_CCS_versions&packageId=radar_toolbox

Also, have you checked if you can debug the out of box example or only people tracking?

I have tried only 3D people tracking from the labs project.
