[FAQ] PGA900: How do I launch a debug session in CCS?

Part Number: PGA900
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA970

Tool/software:

I am writing firmware for PGA900/970. I am trying to launch a debug session so I can debug my firmware. How do I launch the session properly?

  • These instructions apply to CCS v12.8 with an XDS110 debugger

First, you must configure your Target Configuration file appropriately.

Once you've connected the debugger to your hardware, you can use the "Test Connection" button to make sure everything is properly connected.

These instructions are for PGA970, but they apply to PGA900 as well.

Step 1. Launch the Target Configuration you just created.

Step 2. Connect to the Target

Step 3. Load the binary file (.out) and begin debugging.
