IWRL6432FSPEVM: linking multiple sensor modules

Part Number: IWRL6432FSPEVM

Tool/software:

stupid beginner questions:

Are these sensors able to cooperate if several are nearby having overlapping FOVs?  Is it possible to generate an automatic dynamic calibration protocol using multiple sensors with overlapping FOV?

does the libraries in the SDK have edge detection?  What about rotating object detection algorithms?

  • Hello,

Not a stupid question at all! The easiest way to do this is via software. If you have two EVMs that give XYZ Doppler SNR point clouds, if the distance between the two EVM's antennas are calculated, you can easily collocate each other's point clouds to create an overlap.

Radar does not work the way light based sensors such as cameras, ToF, Lidar, etc. Radar can penetrate surfaces and find detections behind solid objects, it can also bounce off of walls and create scenarios of detecting objects around a corner. My point is that edge detection is inherently an imaging technique that needs very fine resolution to differentiate one thing from another, something you will not get with radar unless using many of them in tandem. And by rotating object detection algorithm do you mean an object is rotated in front of the Radar, creating a sort of 3D scan of it? We do not have this
