IWRL6432AOP: Questions for factory calibration

Part Number: IWRL6432AOP

Tool/software:

I would like to ask some questions related to factory calibration of IWRL6432AOP.

(i) Does this calibration have to be done definetely in user manufacturing site? If we skip this calibation, what kind of problems will happen?

(ii) Does this calibration allow us to use the same calibration data with other radar chips or should be specific? I would like to know the possibilities of reasonable solution.

Because we have a plan to work without any FLASH on our radar board.

(iii) If this calibation must be done, we have to implement calibration function and process. Are there any informations or documentations about factory calibration data?

Especially, I would like to know data format, parameters and so on from software implementation perspective.

  • Hi

    1. Factory calibration helps in mitigation of strong interference. But for most practical usecases, there is no need to perform calibration at the factory. Every time the sensor is boots up, boot calibration and run time calibration is performed which calibrates the rx gain , Tx power and the synthesizer. There is no need to restore the data from flash

2.Calibration data is sensor dependent. Cannot be interchanged across devices

    3. No need to store the calibration data. Every bootup sequence takes care of the calibration
