Part Number: AWR2243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243, , DCA1000EVM, AWR1843, AWR2944

Tool/software:

Hi ,

Can we configure AWR2243Boost without using any of DFP and mmwavestudio  by just sending radar config file via serial port to AWR2243 and i want to capture the data via DCA1000EVM ?  Pls guide me for the same.

Thanks

  • Hi

In order to confgure the AWR2243 it is required to run the mmWave Link API. When we use mmWave Studio, the mmWave Link API is run on the Windows PC. If mmWave Studio is not used, than we need another processor that would run the mmWave Link API.  This would be a much more complex system.

Why don't you consider a programmable sensor such as AWR1843?

    Thank you
    Cesar

  • Thanks Cesar, great thanks for letting me know about  a programmable sensor such as AWR1843, so in this sensor as i read just its like a RADAR SoC so just one board will be enough? and how to programm this AWR1843?

  • The AWR1843 and AWR2944 are programmable sensors. In these sensors mmWaveLink runs inside the device. We have a tool that allows to configure the device using code running inside the device instead of mmWave Studio

There are limitations since not all configurations are supported see:

    C:\data-nobackup\2025\radar_toolbox_3_10_00_05\tools\studio_cli\docs\mmwave_studio_CLI_release_notes.html

With this setup you will still need DCA1000 EVM to capture the data but you will not need mmwave studio

    thank you
