Hi,

I'm confused about the correct version of mmWave Studio for my setup. The website mentions MMWAVE-STUDIO-2G, which is the mmwave_studio_03_01_04_04_win32.exe — 52612 K, but when I reviewed the mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide.pdf, it mentions a different version. Could you please help me?

I followed all the steps in the mmwave_studio_cascade_user_guide. In Subsection 7.3.2, when I clicked SPI after waiting, nothing happened. What should I do?

Hello,

For AWR2243 you need to use below studio version:

MMWAVE-STUDIO-2G IDE, configuration, compiler or debugger | TI.com

Hello,

In below folder you can find example scripts for how to configure the device. You can follow the steps in Cascade_Configuration_Basic.lua for the correct steps.

C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\mmWaveStudio\Scripts\Cascade

Sorry for asking a couple of questions.

How can I make sure that mine is ES1.1 or ES1.0?

Also, in the file Cascade_Configuration_Basic. lua mentioned mmwave_dfp_02_02_02_01 and mmwave_dfp_02_02_00_02. Do I need to install these older versions?

I loaded C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_02_02_02_01\firmware\xwr22xx_metaImage.bin and worked. Why RS232 is not active? What should I do?

Hello,

RS232 is not required for using the device is SOP4 mode. There is no point in the script where it attempts to connect RS232. All of the communication is done over SPI.

FYI, DFP 2.2.2.1 is quite old. I recommend to update to the latest DFP, there have been several critical firmware updates since DFP 2.2.2.1.

Thanks for your response, in the following mentioned that "Move to Static configuration tab for Channel configuration. Select the Cascading Mode as “Master” for “RadarDevice1” and click Set. This will enable the clock to the slave devices and must be done before any configuration of slave devices."

I click on the RadarDevice1, select Set in Basic Configuration and Advanced Configuration, and finally, RF Int Done.

Repeat above for RadarDevice2 to 4, but when I use Cascading Mode in Slave, I'm facing an error. What should I do?

I realized the problem was that I needed to activate each RadarDevice in the connection tab.

Could you please let me know what I should do about this error related to MATLAB?

Profile, Chirp, and Frame configuration should be done for each RadarDevice, right? And when all is done, TDAxx and Triger Frame?

Hello,

This error means that the datapath was not configured before issuing the sensor configurations.

It is not a fatal error, if you do not plan to capture raw data you can just ignore it. However, if you want to capture raw data you need to issue the commands in the DataConfig before issuing SensorConfig commands.

Hello,

Please follow exact command sequence in the provided Cascade_Capture.lua. It will allow you to capture and process the data.

You need to run Cascade_Configuration_Basic.lua -> Cascade_Capture.lua for a full device setup and rdata capture example.

Once you understand how the scripts are working you can then modify them for your specific use case.
