I plan to use the AWR2E44P IC for a UAV radar application.

How can I establish a real-time setup without using the DCA1000EVM?

Are any additional interfaces required in this case?

Hello Melchoir,

The demo present in the MMWAVEMCUPLUS SDK does not depend on the DCA1000.
DCA1000 is only required for capturing the ADC data over LVDS.
The demo in the MMWAVEMCUPLUS SDK also streams the point cloud data in the out of box demo provided in the SDK.

Hello,
So, does this mean I can completely eliminate the DCA? Since the AWR2944 EVM has an integrated MCU and DSP, can it operate in a single-board topology for real-time applications? Is my understanding correct?

Hello Melchior,

Yes your understanding is correct. DCA is only required for Raw data ADC capture.

You can go through the device TR and data sheet for peripheral information.
The SDK will also have drivers for the same.

Hi,

I would like to confirm whether the AWR2944 EVM can provide range/distance and velocity outputs through Ethernet or USB interfaces?
So that, range/distance and velocity output values I can display in my PC by GUI.
