HDC3022: IBIS model for SI analysis

Part Number: HDC3022
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HDC3020, HDC3020FLXEVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I'm trying to simulate the I2C lines on a design to look at signal integrity and check for overshoot/undershoot. Is there an IBIS model available for HDC3022 or a generic approach that could be recommended?

Thanks!

  • Hello Tom,

Unfortunately, we don't have an IBIS model available for the HDC3022 at this time. The best I can suggest is either ordering an HDC3020EVM with the MCU which would allow you to evaluate the sensor with the GUI and break off the sensor later if desired.

Or, if you just need the sensor, the HDC3020FLXEVM can be integrated into your test setup via soldering wires to the gold fingers. From there, you can evaluate the I2C performance in real-time.

    Regards,

    Harry

  • Hi Harry,

Thanks for looking at that for me and putting those options togethers.

Is there a method you could suggest for simulating the HDC3022's I2C bus using generic models instead or is physical testing the only approach?

    Kind Regards,

    Tom

  • Hello Tom,

To get the most accurate and real-time analysis of the HDC3020's I2C performance. I would highly recommend ordering the HDC3020FLXEVM as mentioned above since it's a straightforward plug and play sensor, and can be directly integrated into your test setup. There are unfortunately no alternatives in terms of modeling at this time for the HDC3020.

    Regards,

    Harry
