Tool/software:
Hi,
We’re using an AWR2243 with an external HPA on TX and an LNA on RX. I’d like clarification on the correct calibration approach for this setup.
Should we:
-
Disable the HPA/LNA during RfInit, letting the AWR2243 perform its internal calibrations normally, then enable the front end afterward (and handle any front-end gain/phase manually), or
-
Leave the HPA/LNA enabled so that the calibrations run under actual operating conditions? My concern is this may be outside of the scope of the AWR2243 calibrations and they will be unable to adapt to this additional frontend
My understanding is that only a few boot calibrations — Tx power, Tx phase shifter, and Rx IQMM — could be affected by the external front end, since most others are internal.
What’s the recommended method for such configurations? Should we do a factory calibration with the front end off and use the save/restore APIs in the field?
Thanks very much!
