ISOTMP35-Q1: Regarding Tsense

Part Number: ISOTMP35-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISOTMP35

Hi

we are using ISOTMP35BEDFQRQ1 in our design. I want to know where to connect Tsense in our design. WE have high power dissipating MOSFETs and the planes connected to them is also expected to get thermally high. I want to know if i need to connect the Tsense pins as a floating plane and place it adjacent to thermal hotspot region? or whether Tsense pins needs to be connectd to Ground or mounting holes? Please let me know.

  • Hello,

The TSENSE pins should be placed on whatever plane or surface has the thermal hotspots you are wanting to monitor. So as long as the voltage of the MOSFETs does not exceed the isolation voltage of the ISOTMP35, then I would directly connect the TSENSE pins to the thermally high copper planes. The TSENSE pins do not need to be grounded or placed adjacent to the hot high-voltage copper planes, direct connection is good.

    Thanks
