Part Number: OPT3006
Good morning,
I’m reaching out regarding an issue we are experiencing with the OPT3006 on our assemblies. The device is functioning as expected from a communication and sensing standpoint—it communicates properly over I²C and detects light level changes.
However, we are seeing an unexpected increase in current consumption. Specifically, the assemblies are drawing an additional 1–30 µA, which causes them to fail our current-draw test during production.
At this time, we are looking to better understand potential causes for this elevated current draw and whether there are known behaviors or failure modes that might contribute to this issue.
Could you please provide guidance or recommendations on the following?
- Any known conditions that could lead to intermittent or excess current consumption
- Suggested debugging steps or measurement techniques to isolate the cause
- Whether you have seen similar reports from other customers
Any assistance or documentation you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
