Hi,

During production, if we have onboard antenna, and enclosure may abstract the signal. What is best approach for desigining antenna for IWRL6432, If we go with external antenna, do we required any calibration?

Hi Kuranakar,

Could you please elaborate on what you meant by external antenna? Do you mean antenna on PCB. You can have couple of antenna design approaches.

1. IWRL6432BOOST EVM - https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/SWRR181

2. TIDEP-01033 Reference design - https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/TIDMDI6

Kindly make sure to follow the stack up as recommended by TI. If you chose design custom antenna on custom stack up, please perform antenna simulation to ensure you get desired FOV, gain and isolation.

Yes, calibration is required for any antenna be it TI EVM antenna design or custom antenna design.
