TMP421: Questions about Series Resistance Cancelation

Per datasheet, a total of up to 3kΩ of series line resistance is cancelled. Is 3kΩ a combined series resistance connected externally to the D+, D– pins? Or is it a resistance connected externally to each of the D+, D– pins?

Hello Dung,

The series resistance cancelation is automatic within the device. I would try to not add any resistance to the D+ and D- lines. I have attached a plot of how resistance can affect the remote temperature error.
