AWR2243: DC Power Distribution

I am cascading  4 TI AWR2243 chips. Out of 4 chips, 2 work as TX only with external LO_syn and other 2 as a RX only Chip with Ext LO_syn. There is one more Awr2243 chip Which is used as master for LO_Syn, Clock and trigger and there will be no Active TX or RX channel for it. The 2 TX only chips works in transmit mode and no receive channel works there. The TX only chips transmit Sequentially with only one TX antenna(channel) active for a Chirp. The 2 RX only chip will work in receive only mode and receive simulataneously for RX channel but none of its transmit channel active. I need to know how much current(average and peak) and voltage required for each type of chip per rail. How much DC power consumption for each chip: Tx only; Rx only chip and master chip with no active tx and rx channel

    But the file doesnot resolve my issue as the excel will give the total power with RX and Txs

  • Hi Shakti, 

    We do not have specific power numbers like this that only specifies the use case that you are working on. Here are some suggestions : 

    • Can you please try the power calculator and do multiple different measurements and add them together to get an estimated power information? For example : try combination of TX only (1TX, 0RX), RX only (0TX, 4RX) and master sync (0TX, 0RX) based on the chirp configuration. 
    • If you already have the device built then please do a quick measurement that could give you those values as well or if you have a cascaded EVM then you can run a script to turn of TXs to get the RX measurement and do vice versa to get the TX measurement

    But still in the calculator , it wont let us select Rx= 0 and TX = 0. And what if it is only in the master chip; just sending LO to slave but no active TX and RX we cant get this from the calculator. The next thing is when the slave chip is ON but it is configured to transmit one chirp per TX and after that transmission is done the Chip is on but nothing is transmitting and nothing is receiving and does not do any thing, will be switched to low consumption mode and what power it consumes. These cannot be estimated from the calculator. Please help me this to figure out

    We do not have anything like this that you mentioned. Based on the data we have available on the datasheet and this calculator is the only thing that we shared with customer for their power consumption estimation.
