TMP006 Student Project

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP006

For our project we will be using the tmp006 sensor. I want some rough estimates to include in our presentation and gantt chart. Basically we want a device similar to the tmp006 evaluation module. How long would you estimate for research and development to occur to create basically a tmp006 evm for a smartphone? Just looking for a rough time period (more accurate and detailed the better). Also how much in costs would you see incur to develop such a device? I am the hardware analyst and I'm not looking on any details based on software, just hardware. We are wanting to see how long and how much it would cost to develop a device similar to the tmp006 evm working with the correct iphone/ipad/ipod connector (Lightning and maybe original 30pin) and microUSB connector. Please give us any help, my team greatly appreciates it. Also, would Texas instruments develop something like this or would we have to go find another manufacturer? If so, what kind of companies would do this for us? None of this stuff will actually be done, it's all a fictitious project, but we want all the details we can get to get an amazing presentation and prove that we won't miss a step in our entire process. I would love if I could be also placed in contact with someone who could help us with such project in more detail, perhaps through e-mail.

  • Hello Tanner,

We appreciate the enthusiasm you have regarding the TMP006 as part of your project, but a major component of the senior project experience is doing your own research and making your own conclusions. Furthermore, in this forum we do not have expertise on developing a system which interfaces to an iOS device.

If you have a technical question regarding the function of the TMP006, problems with a particular application, or anything of that sort, please post it here and I'll answer it quickly and correctly.
