I have a question for TMP102.
At page 14 of datasheet, Figure 14 shows "Two-Wire Timing Diagram for Read Word Format".
In the case of a two-byte read operation, should the master assert the ACK signal after 1Byte transfer (at (2) timing)?
I think that the ACK signal should only be asserted after 2Byte transfer completion (thus, at (3) timing).
Is my suggestion correct?

Hello Nomoto-San,
When you say (2) timing you mean the marked area in the below figure 14 right?.
I2C or Serial wire communication is byte wise communication. Which means after every byte of transfer from one device (slave/master) there has to be an ACK from the other device (master/slave). So, the ACK by master (in the marked area-timing 2) is necessary. The read transaction will be terminated if the master doesn't ACK at the end of this byte.
