Temperature controlling of a pan

Hello,

I want to control the temperature of a pan which will have water. So I want to keep the temperature of the water around 80°C.

My board is going to be mounted under the pan and its going to be closed by plastic. I was planning to use a panel mount temperature sensor but couldn't find one.

What can i use to measure the temperature of the water from under the pan? I've found LM35 series but i dont know how accurate can it be since i cant mount it to the pan.

I am trying to measure the temperature of an aluminum plate. I am facing a very similar issue. Did you come up with a solution?

Hi Gurkan and Mike,

The LM35 has a typical accuracy ±0.25°C at room temperature and ±0.75°C from -55°C to 150°C. Most of our temperature sensor products are sensed the temperature through the sensor’s package and its metal lead. The LM35 metal can package might be suitable for your project since it will have a dominant thermal path through the package. You might need to seal the package on your aluminum plate or pan with the epoxy high temperature. You also need to seal the pins too.
