I am starting to use the TMP512, and have a question on the remote temp sensors... The datasheet specifies that a remote PNP transistor can be connected as a diode or with the collector grounded. What is the difference? Other than an extra wire for ground, is there any performance or noise tradeoff?
I plan to use a TO-92 2N3906 via 10-20 inches of wire, at least twisted pair, probably shielded.
Thanks for any discussion,
Chris.
