Hi all,

The technology seems very interesting….

My questions are:

Can I use LDC 1000 to measure distance to, for example, human skin or just to metal target?
What is the distance range between sensor and target can be measured by LDC 1000?

Hi Evgeny,

1) Yes, LDC will work but with lower sensing distance/precision as the finger is not as conductive as metal

2) Rule of thumb - half coil diameter for precision measurements, 1 coil diameter just for detection of presence

Can I measure the angle between target and coil?
As far as I understand the target/coil temperature variation affects the R/L measuring. Could I use LDC1000 sensor as temperature sensor to measure target temperature?

I have read the SNAA212 – LDC1000 Temperature Compensation and I see that it is possible to measure temperature by the LDC1000 when the target does not move. Am I correct?
