Change in RpMin cause change in measured inductance.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1000EVM

Hi,

I have made small coil 80uH with ferrite core and connect it with capacitor 333pF and connected it with LDC1000EVM. Fsensor was set to 807kHz.  Resonant frequency of this circuit is something about 1MHz.  I wonder why changes in RpMax RpMin cause change in inductance. After i read datasheet i thought it is independent measurement.

Best Regards

Tomek

  • Hello Tomek,

The behavior is expected, nothing to worry about.

Changing RpMIN/MAX settings changes driving characteristics of the oscillator. This, in turn, slightly changes oscillation frequency, and hence, measured L.

In final applications RpMIN/MAX are fixed values, and thus will no longer influence the readings.
