TMP101 leakage current on Alert

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP101

The TMP101 offers an open drain alert pin. Since I'm going to use the device in a very low current design I need to know how large the maximum leakage current will be at 125°C. Furthermore I would like to know the direction of the leakage current. Is it the leakage of the open drain transistor (current into the device) or is it a current from an ESD diode (current out of the device)?

Thank al lot,

Dirk Kaehler

  • Hello Dirk,

The maximum leakage current on ALERT (output) pin at 125degC will be <1uA (0.2uA typically). Since this is an open drain output pin the current direction will be into the device ie. From ALERT output pin into the ESD-gnd and Open drain ground inside the device. One more important consideration to your low current design is the Quiescent current, found in Page 3 of datasheet. Thanks for posting and I hope to have answered your question.
