Hi,

I need some help locating parts for my sensor TMP20.  I am interested in making into a probe but i need a cover or boot for the sensor - i would like to have the sensor hooked upan ATmega but a couple feet away.  Does TI sell sensors with covers?  if not, where is a good place to find boot coveres that work well with these type of sensors?

    I assume you're planning to mount the TMP20 on a slender PCB. Is there a reason why you can't leave it exposed for good thermal response?

    Hi Ren, 

    its going in a payload in a weather balloon - the ambient temp will differ from inside the payload
    need to have it separated from the micro by about one or two feet
    not sure what the best thing to do in this situation

    Based on your first post, I was imagining that you wanted a metal temperature probe or at least something similarly shaped with a TMP20 inside. I sense now that you're just not sure about sealing your application's hardware. Is that right?

     

    I apologize for alluding to this before, but the TMP20 should be fine in open air. If you're concerned about moisture or other contamination, I would think a conformal coating would be sufficient, but I have no personal experience with them.
