Design for 12 pcb aerials

Hi

i need to use 12pcb aerials to measure a single minimum distance to a passing piece of metal. Each aerial needs to read at  around 5,000 times per second And return a value after the metal passes out of range.

can you give an opinion as to the overall design structure please?

A single  mrd480, a multiplexor, or multiple processors? 12 ldc1000?

i think I saw a reference to something you were working on which might solve this problem?

thanks

Jonathan

  • Hello Jonathan,

Can you provide more details, otherwise it's quite obscure...

for 5kS/s I would stay away from multiplexing until the proof of concept is done. Afterwards, it might be possible to optimize the number of LDCs and multiplexors.
