TMP006 Calibration S0

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP006

Hi,

I am working on TMP006. I have calibrated S0 based on SBOU107. After calibration, I find calibration factor, S0 is not a constant. So, I look into function of

  1+a1*(Tdie-Tref)+a2*(Tdie-Tref)^2.

If I use parameters a1 and a2 as SBOUT107 suggested, the function looks like orange curve (Series2), which is flat. To make S0 constant, I need blue curve (Series1).

I write a matlab script to find the optimum a1 and a2 (a1=2.44E-4, a2=-1.18E-3). Afterwards, the calculated results match object temperatures much better than before.

In a word, I think A1 and A2 are application dependant. The calibration of A1 and A2 is necessary in some cases. Could you please send me the official method on it to my mail box?

My mail box is sheng.2.luo@nsn.com. Thanks.

BRs,

Luo

  • Hello Sheng,

a1 and a2 coefficients used to calculate the S coefficient are based on the TMP006 internal thermopile's thermal conductivity. These values should not change with the setup. Let me take a look at your data (Ref temp, Local/die temp and Sensor Voltage) and see where you might me going wrong. Please email your data to abhishekmuppiri@ti.com
