We would like to set up a measurement with LDC1000 and a 470µH power inductor with 3mm outer Diameter. Can you give me a hint what a typical distance to the target could be to reach a resolution less then 1µm. Target is bigger than 3mm.

Hi,

You`d better to keep it <1.5, but you can use moving average filter in the software to improve it.

Hi Sunny,

I planned to build up different setups, e.g. 1.5mm, 1.0mm, 0.5mm.

Can you confirm that the nearer the better position to the target is or is there a certain optimum distance.

Yes, the nearer the better, but 1.5mm will be OK.
