Hi
WEBENCH showed that this device could detect metal among 1 to 7 mm.(10um resolution)
But, If the bottom has metal, the value will influenced.
Do you have distance value of clearance of EVM. (SS416)

Hello PAN-M,
The Webench simulator will give good results, if a metal on the bottom of the coils is farther than a coil diameter.
At the moment we do not have a feature of running the simulation with a metal backplate.
Practical solution will be to put parameters into Webench with increased resolution requirement, then the backplate presence will be compensated for.
If you are asking, if we have resolution of the system vs distance for a certain coil, target diameter and material, with some metal on the back of the coil - then no, sorry.
You also can use a ferrite backplate to shield the coil from the presence of the metal case.
Thank you for support.
I will send to our customer your comment.
Thanks and Regards
