What do you mean  when the part is very close to the coil, 2mm eg., there's Rp changing? As I know Rp is definite changed when the target moving to the coil.

Thanks for your reply. I mean the sensing range for my application is very short. The LED on the EVM, which indicates if there's any target in detecting range, only turns on when the target is within 2mm to the coil. 

Btw, I suppose the detecting resolution will be lower as the target is moving further from the coil, right?

Hi Jiaqi,

Yes,  the detecting resolution will be lower as the target is moving further from the coil. But your sensing range is only 2mm, if you use a coil with diameter larger than 10mm, I think the sensitivity will be good in the whole range.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we're going to use different coils to increase the sensitivity. Is there any possibility to use two coils together as I mentioned before?
