Detecting cracks using LD1000

There are a significant number of variables on this question, and so there is no direct answer. First, the sensor design will affect this; the sensor frequency will determine the penetration depth and physical resolution. The type of steel, the percentage of carbon, and the conductivity and permeability of the steel will also be factors. Finally, the size and location of the cracks will matter - if the cracks are too deep, then they may not be sensed due to conductive skin effect.
