LDC1000 Clock difference between EVM and customed PCB

Hi,

I designed circutis diagram around LDC1000 with 8MHz External Clock.

On EVM, the external clock frequency is 6MHz.

I evaluated both with same LC components and same CFB capacitor.

But Rp was different. The difference was about 200 (code value).  I don't know why. ..

I thought that since the clock frequency was diffrent the conversion accuracy resulted in Rp value.

I believe 8MHz is better, but during the long period the Rp was not stable. EVM was more stable.

If you could , please give me some advice.

Thanks at advance and Kindest Regards,

Edgard

  • Hello Edgard,

Let me see if I got it correctly:

You took out the LDC1000 EVM crystal, and connected your own source of 8MHz? Or is it a brand-new board?

What do you mean Rp was not stable? Is it a noise, or is it drifting up and down? Please take a look at the waveform on INA pin to check if there's some issues there.
