TMP103 V+ Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP103

Hi,

If the TMP103 V+ is 1.8V. But the I2C level is 3.0V. Does it any leakage current issue? Thanks!

  • Hi Jerry,

Thanks for using the E2E Forums.

You are correct, if you use an I2C level greater than V+ value you will be experiencing leak current issues. One of the I2C lines of this device have an ESD diode to supply. The input voltage is limited. Please follow the datasheet guidelines, absolute values, to select your voltages level. Don't use TMP103 I2C lines voltage more than 0.3V above V+.

  • Hi Mayrim,

    Thanks for your quickly reply.

After discussed with my customer, they will MP the project this monthly. If they don't want to change the circuit, does any risk to damage the IC or function issue?

  • Hi Jerry,

We do not guarantee any IC if it is used outside the Absolute Ratings. That configuration exceed our Input Voltage absolute maximum ratings.
