LDC1000EVM Default Values

Hi Guys,

I got an EVM to play with and am trying to get a feel for the formulas etc. I am calculating my Rp min and max using the formulas given in the Quick Start guide, but I am getting values way different than the defaults loaded in the GUI.

What are the actual values of the EVM for:

- Sensor frequency

- Inductance (18uH ?)

- Capacitance (100pF ?)

- Rs ?

Hello Daniel,

The cap on the EVM is 100pF as described in the datasheet, the inductance is ~19 uH.The sensor frequency can be calculated according to the formula f = 1/(2*pi*sqrt(LC)). Rs is frequency dependent and highest at resonance. Please, follow the steps described in the FAQ, question # 20: http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/inductive-sensing/f/938/t/295036.aspx#Q20 to tune your Rp min and Rp max values.

Thanks Natallia. I realize now that I (wrongly) assumed that the default values stored in the EVM would be tuned to the supplied inductor. That is obviously not the case, but it did cause me lots of confusion as the values I calculated were so different to the defaults.
