FDC1004 - I2C addresses?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: FDC1004, TCA9544A

Hey,

I am looking at the FDC1004 but will need two or three of them in my system. I only have one I2C port on my micro and don't see a way(without external hardware) to distinquish which device I'm talking to. Is there a way to address each FDC1004 from a single I2C port?

Cheers

Calum

  • Hi Calum:

The FDC1004 only has one slave address so there is no way to address each FDC1004 individually from a single I2C port. An alternative way would be to use an external device such as the TCA9544A as a I2C switch. Future generation of parts will incorporate address pins for this specific case in which multiples of the same device can be used on the same bus.

    Thanks
