Can LDC1000 be used without using a microcontroller

Hello,

Can the LDC1000 Inductance to Digital Convereter be used without the use of an MCU. Can the signals be given via clock generators.

I have to use it on a breadboard.

Hello Rachit,

LDC1000 requires intial register configuration. Therefore, the use of mcu is necessary. Please, let me know if you have any other questions.

Can i use shift registers to pass in the values?
I have to set the INTB to wakeup mode so that it acts as a proximity detector.
So I have to pass 8bits of address and 8 bits of data.

Hello Rachit,

There are several registers that need to be configured, so if you can arrange the logic to configure the LDC1000 in that manner, than yes - using shift registers can be viable. I would like to caution you that there are more than 6 registers you will need to configure.
