Hii I am working on a project in which i am using tmp006 chip and I have a question
is that whole chip which is 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm the sensing part?
or there is specific area of the chip like a very small area which sense the temperature?

You are correct the die size is 1.6mm x1.6mm square. The Sensor area however is only a portion of the die. See the pictuer below. The sensor portion is located in the center of the die.
