Optics needed to increase range of a TMP006 Array?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP006

I was hoping I could get some insight on the optics and lensing needed for my project, it's very similar to the one in this post. My goal is to make an occupancy sensor for the many study rooms in the library at my school. The rooms vary in size from 3' x 5' to 15' x 10' so I'll need to make a few different sized arrays. I'm lost on how I would go about increasing the sensor range with the fresnel lenses. Would I need a single lens for each TMP006?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hi Nicholas,

Sorry for the late acknowledge. I will ask Tommy to take a look at this question.

  • Nicolas,

Thanks for your interest in our parts.  Sorry for the delay.  We don't have much experience with optics and our TMP007 and TMP006.  I have spent a fair amount of time invetigating Fresnel Lens'.  We purchase some failry large fresnel lens' and had reasonable results.  Gloabs FL-25 with its .25" foacal lenght and .375 diameter footprint,  will give you some large scale investigational information.  I found a company Fresnel Technologies that has capabilites to create what I call micro fresnel lens.   Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
