Sensing the rotational speed of a disk

I'd like to know if your inductive sensing technology is capable of sensing the rotational speed of a metal disk when the coil sensor is placed in a perpendicular plane. Please see the diagram below.

    Yes, the LDC can be used in the orientation that you show. One important consideration - the disk cannot be completely uniform on the side, otherwise there will be no variation in the LDC output code. For example, gear teeth or some other uniformly distributed variation should be present.
