LM61BIM Temperature measurement of a PC mounted rod

We are currently using LM61BIZ to perform temperature measurement of a battery with the sensor mounted inside a ring lug and attached to the battery post. But we would like to use a metal probe in contact with the battery electrolyte and with the probe attached to the PC board and use the LM61BIM (Sot-23) part for temperature measurement. How can I measure the temperature of the probe if the probe could be at voltage potential (probe in contact with electrolyte) different from PC board and sensor IC?

Regards,
