LDC1000 and LDC1612/14 target sensing distance difference

Hi all,

I see in inductive sensing faq (http://e2e.ti.com/support/sensor/inductive-sensing/f/938/t/295036#Q2respectively
sensing distance up to 100% and up to 200% of the coil diameter. What does produce this significant difference between them?

The LDC161x has a much higher effective resolution than the lower resolution parts; it can detect much smaller changes in the inductance due to target motion at a farther distance.

Hi Chris,
the sensing distance difference between LDC1000 and LDC1614 is somehow correlated to different resonat frequency? I see that LDC1000EVM has a 3.6MHz of resonant freq while LDC1614 has about 2MHz.

Hello Alberto,

The sensing range is not really due to the sensor frequency; if you used the LDC1000EVM sensor with the LDC161x it would still be able to measure at about the same range.
