TMP112/TMP108 Gau-temp apprications

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP112, TMP108

Hi.

I have a query in an application that uses the TMP112 or TMP108.

Or presentation is available application notes on how to measure the temperature of the gas (case) in the TMP sensor? (Gas is for general household)

Three questions

1) Do temperature is sensed by the package of TMP sensor, or do you sense in the terminal?

2) Are we may be considered to Tj = TA.

3) When you implement the TMP sensor to the PCB, do not be a problem, even with a flux to the device.

Best regards

  • Hi,

    (1)    The leads have lower thermal resistance and form the primary conduction path. The package body however also conducts heat, just at a slower pace.

    (2)    Eventually this is the case. When TA changes, it takes time for this change to reach inside the device, through the two paths mentioned in (1). Figure 21 of TMP112 data sheet shows what typical response time to expect in this situation.

    (3)    Flux is not a problem; as long as the PCB is cleaned afterwards.

    Regard, Guang
