Magnetic Sensor

Hi Ti Team,

I was recently acquiring magnetic data using the ti sensor tag.

I made sure to keep distance from building and other potential magnetic disturbances.

The acquired data showed that the total intensity of the magnetic field H=sqrt(Hx^2+Hy^2+Hz^2) was not independent of the orientation of the sensor.

To the best of my knowledge, the total intensity should be independent on the orientation of the sensor.

Measurements with my phone confirmed this statement.

Repeated measurements showed that the total intensity measured with the ti sensor tag highly depends on the device orientation.

How can this contradiction be explained?

Thanks in advance for an answer.
