LDC1312EVM Invalid Serial

I recently bought a LDC1312EVM kit, but am having problems connecting to the sensor using the provided GUI. I am running windows 8, and already installed the driver and flashed the most recent firmware, but when I try to connect, it says

Fimrware : 0.0.0.7

Invalid Serial : FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Does any one have suggestions on how to proceed?

    Hi Levi,

    I had this problem when I was using a looooooong and bad USB cable.

    Did you try the cable that comes with the EVM and connect the EVM to a USB port that is soldered directly to your PC motherboard (backside of PC)?
