Hi,

I have designed sensor using HDC1000 as per guidelines given in application note and datasheet.

I have designed 2 boards one is CPU board and other is sensor board. senor board goes into CPU board with locking connector.

As per datasheet, sensor should be kept away from the CPU, display etc. So distance between CPU and sensor is approximately 1 inch.

Problem is temperature is 2 deg. higher side and humidity is 12% on lower side

My question is

"How much ideal distance between CPU, display and actual sensor should be kept to get accurate readings ?"

Hi Nilesh,

It really depends from the layout of your board: in our EVM the distance between the CPU and the HDC is approximately 1 inch. and the temperature value is correct.

For sure 2deg. error in the temperature measure will impact on the accuracy of the humidity measure.

I more observation as below,

For POC I have used HDC1000 click board from mikroelectronica. This board is interfaced to CPU board by using cables and kept at least 4- 5 inch away from CPU board. With this I am getting the accurate readings but the same click board if I mount on cpu using male-female burg strip connector, there will be deviation in readings.

Same is the observation with my final custom made boards i.e. if I mount sensor board on CPU board there will be a deviation in readings but if sensor is wired and kept away from CPU board by 4 - 5 inches, readings will be accurate.
