Hello,

Customer use LDC1614 to design. Coil inductance is 100 uH ~ 300 uH，Target distance is above 1 meter. Do you have suggest RC matching value and configuration setting for this case? Thank you.

Hello Patrick,

What is the required distance measurement resolution and the sample rate? A sensing range of 1m is quite far and may require a sensor diameter of 1.5m.

The resolution don't need high due to just measure any metal pass through over 1 m distance. Sample rate is as higher as possible. They will use external inductance (100uH~300uH) that embended to floor. Any suggest matching capacitor and resistor for that? Thank you,

Hello Patrick,

You will not need to use any resistor, only a capacitor. You will need to know the inductor Rs vs. frequency, and also the SRF of the inductor to set the sensor capacitor, which then sets the sensor frequency.

The LDC effective resolution is a function of the sample rate, where the higher the sample rate, the lower the effective resolution. As for sample rate, do you need 4ksps or something lower?

Thanks. 4ksps should be ok. Has any guide to let us to setting capacitor value and sensor frequency?
