OPT3001 ADC sampling rate

Hi,

I am looking at the OPT3001 datasheet but I am not able to find any information related to the maximum sampling rate of the ADC.

Does anyone have information about that?

Output Data rate is fixed at 100mS and 800mS. The sample period of the light is considerably less than 100mS and takes place in the first part of the conversion, followed by the ADC conversion and finally data output. Is there something in particular you are looking for here, like if you can apply a pulsed light to the device? In my experience, I would not recommend it as it is nearly impossible to synchronize to the OPT3001.

Dear Jason,
thanks for the explanation.
The customer is trying to use the OPT3001 in a textile market application to detect colors on thread that is running at 1 meter per second. He didn't specify the thread window size they want to detect.
Is there a kind of standard detection window size for this sensor?

I'm not sure this is the best device for this application - perhaps the OPT101 which has an analog response and high bandwidth, which can be combined with a fast ADC would be the best plan?
