Liquid Level Sensing for FDC1004

I plan to use FDC1004 for liquid level sensing and motion detection (door open/close). But i need to know some details below:

Please advice....

1.  Can FDC 1004 able to detect fast changing liquid level (measurement rate)?

2.  Beside FDC1004, TI also has the FDC2112. May i know which is more suitable?

3.  Can FDC1004 use as motion sensor to detect the door action (open/close)?

    Hello,

    1. The FDC1004 can sample at 100/200/400 Sps. This should be sufficient for most liquids. However, if your liquid is very conductive, you may need FDC2212, which can go up to 4k Sps.

    2. FDC2112 is a low resolution part. For this application, you will need the high resolution version FDC2212. FDC2212 has better resolution and noise immunity than FDC1004. The advantage of FDC1004 is that it has an active shield driver.

    3. Yes, both FDC1004 and FDC2212 can be used for this application. FDC2212 will have more robust performance.
