Hello everyone

Can someone help me if I can use TDC1000 or TDC1011 for medical applications? I want to measure the distance of body tissues from the surface( skin) and find the movement.

Also need help for the sensor type.

Even I would be happy if you can say to use above mentioned ICs or it's better to use TDC1000-C2000EVM evaluation board for the ease of use. I mean how difficult is it to use those ICs.

Sorry, but the TDC1000 wasn't designed or tested for that application.

Thanks, do you have any idea for the application I need? I mean any similar IC or circuit.

Also, can you explain briefly why It can not be used for my idea?

Sorry but I haven't done any research in this space but imagine the issue would be SNR.

SNR: to discern the difference (in depth) of internal organs etc. you have to consider what creates the echo is a multitude of factors. The areas we've targeted look at target large changes in Speed of Sound to create an echo. In the body most tissues (organs/structures etc.) even though they are different they are mostly water. So the Speeds of sound for different tissues will be small (I imagine). Therefore the echo amplitude will probably be too small to detect with only 41db of gain.
