How to reduce infulence of human touching on sensor cable?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1614, LDC1614EVM

Nice to meet you.

I am trying to make remote coil with 50cm cable with LDC1614 EVM.

I've aleady read some posts in this foum.

So I found informations :

1st . coxial cable is not recommanded.

2nd. wavelength of sensor frequency is longer then twice of cable length.

3rd. sensor capcitor must be attach to most close position form sensor.

So, I make setting with them.

But There are still exist too much of infulence with human touching.

If somebody grab or get closer to cable, then data is drooooooop too much. ( It means increasing of inductance)

How to reduce of infulence from human touching?

  • Hello,

Are you using twisted pair for the connection between the LDC1614 and the sensor? What is the sensor frequency and what sensor are you using?

    Regards,

  • Thnks for your reply. :-)
    I'm using twisted pair cable.
And Sensor Frequency is 2Mhz. ( I saw 1 cycle of sine wave in front of sensor on oscilloscope.)
    2Mhz wavelength is 150m. I think It's enough for 50cm.
Sensor is just copper coil that I wound on ferrite core. ( Not PCB Coil)
LDC1614EVM has two coils on board.
They have same phenomenon. For example, I can see dropping of sensor raw data If I touch on copper line in front of sensor.
    (between LDC1614 and sensor)

Didn't you have any expiriences like that ? There is no touching noise in your system?
If you don't have problem, That is very good news for me.
    Thanks.

    Best regards.
